Some days, you just don’t want to cook, and sometimes going out and getting a meal with a friend is a nice escape. As the Meridian community continues to grow, so does our restaurant selection. So where are you going to go?  To help you decide, we have put together a list of our Top 10 Favorite Places to Eat in Meridian, ID:

  1. Epi’s Basque Restaurant

For over 16 years’ traditional Basque dishes have lured locals to this cozy, restored bungalow with a welcoming atmosphere. What is Basque food? Basque cuisine originates from Basque Country, a region between north central Spain and south western France. From fresh fish, sizzling hand-cut steak to fragrant domestic lamb and other delicacies, Epi’s is one of Treasure Valley’s favorite places to eat! Epi’s is closed Sunday and Monday. Reservations are recommended Tuesday thru Saturday.

Kahootz Steak and Ale House serves up classic American dishes & a range of microbrews in a casual atmosphere. They use the finest ingredients in all of their food. They carve all their own steaks and their seafood is fresh- never frozen. All of their dressing is made on location as well as their desserts, and just about everything else! They serve weekly dinner and lunch specials that are reason enough to stop in and try, not to mention the homemade soups. They offer around 43 draught beers that are always changing except for a few. There is also a selection of fine wines available by the glass or bottle. You can find their current selection of beers and wines as well as view a menu on their webpage. Kahootz is open Monday from 11am-9pm, Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am-10pm, and is closed on Sunday.

This is a small chain BBQ spot that offers Southern comfort food with a Western kick in a spacious, woodsy setting. They offer a great selection with quick, friendly service. You won’t be disappointed, everything is delicious from the House Ribeye, to the Pulled Pork Sandwich, to the homemade soups and salads. There is a kid’s menu, a carry out menu, and a catering menu as well. Goodwood is open Sunday thru Thursday from 11am-9pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11am-10pm.

Flatbread stays true to the culinary traditions of Neapolitan pizza while also crafting new flavors and dishes to satisfy and inspire your palate. Flatbread uses the finest ingredients -locally sourced whenever it’s possible- to serve up made from scratch, authentic Neapolitan pizza cooked in their 800-degree wood-burning ovens from Naples. Enjoy your meal with one of their many beer or wine selections, and follow it up with a mouth-watering dessert. They are open Monday thru Thursday from 11am-9pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am-10pm, and Sunday from 12pm-9pm.

Though not a dine-in restaurant, this little gem is worth a mention. All of their pastries are baked fresh daily with hand-made dough made daily on-site. From the fruit filled Danishes, to the scones, to the cannoli’s, they cannot be beat. They are open Tuesday thru Saturday from 7am-2:30pm. Try them the next time you need breakfast on the go. Special effort has been put into the coffee as well if you can’t wait to eat the pastry!

  1. Fat Guys Fresh Deli

Fat Guys menu features some of Treasure Valley’s best deli style sandwiches, soups, and salads. Everything is made from scratch by the famous Chef Wally. You can order from the menu or create any sandwich you can dream of; Chef Wally will make it. Check them out on Facebook to find out the soup of the day, but remember that Friday is always reserved for the delicious clam chowder. Fat Guys is open Monday thru Friday from 10:30am-8pm, Saturday from 10:30am-5:00pm and is closed on Sunday.

This is a locally owned, and family operated pizza joint that provides quality pizza at a reasonable price. Also on the menu are salads, cheesy bread, breadsticks and yummy chicken wings. Gluten-free dough is available. Try a calzone, you won’t be disappointed. Johnny’s is open Monday thru Saturday from 10:30am-10pm and Sunday from 10:30am-9pm.

Steve’s is a delightful breakfast and lunch café, offering unique and original meals. All of their menu items are made fresh with the best ingredients. From Huckleberry Pancakes, Huckleberry stuffed French Toast, to slow roasted Corned Beef Hash, Italian Joe’s Special, Reuben Sandwich, and three savory, house made sausages you are sure to find a new favorite meal. Steve’s offers gluten-free breakfast and lunch options as well. Steve’s is open daily from 6:30am-2:30pm (with the exception of Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day).

People come from miles away to eat the delicious salmon burger and mouthwatering meatloaf sandwich. Rick’s offers amazing lunch and dinner menus, and also caters. They are open for lunch Tuesday thru Friday from 11:30am-2:30pm. Their dinner hours are Tuesday thru Thursday from 5pm-8:30pm and Friday and Saturday from 5pm-9pm. They are closes Sunday and Monday.

These are only a small selection of the ever-growing restaurant options becoming available to Meridian residents.
