Community Invited to Donate Nonperishable Food Items

(Meridian, Idaho) December 1, 2015 – Meridian Automotive is hosting a food drive to help feed the hungry in Meridian. From December 1st-31st, the community is invited to drop off nonperishable food items at their shop located at 505 N. Main Street. Anyone who donates two or more items will receive a gift certificate for $10 off their next service or repair at Meridian Automotive. All food will be donated to Meridian Food Bank.

“I’ve lived in Meridian my whole life and it bothers me to see families in my community struggling. This is just one small thing I can do to help,” says John Nesmith, owner of Meridian Automotive.

Why: To help struggling families in our community

According to the Meridian Food Bank 2014 Annual Report, hunger is a continual problem, especially for children. Thirty-seven percent of the people who received food assistance from the Meridian Food Bank in 2014 were children under the age of 18. In 2014, the Meridian Food Bank helped feed 59,115 individuals in our community.

Where: Meridian Automotive, 505 N. Main Street, Meridian, Idaho, 83642.

Suggested donation items include:

  • Canned meats: Tuna, salmon, chicken, etc.
  • Baby items: Baby food, formula, (Diapers and wipes appreciated too
  • Holiday items: Olives, cranberries, stuffing mixes, yams

Donations can be dropped off between 8:00 am- 5:00 pm at Meridian Automotive, located at 505 N. Main Street, Meridian, Idaho.
